I'm still looking for a good language arts program. My ds was on an IEP in the ps system. He's a 5th grader (my opinion he works on a 1-2 grade level and reading skills probably on 5-6 grade level) and reads very well, but has poor skills in spelling
We have used both Easy Grammar and FLL. Worked ok until about 3/4 of the way through the 1st book. They it really became too heavy on dictation and copy work.
We love EG and have been using it for I believe 4 yrs now. It is very through.
