Is is a bad idea to burn computer parts?

My dad and brother are burning old computer parts in a fire. I told them it didn't sound safe, its making funky blue smoke and burning blue and green. I don't know whats in computer chips and whatnot, and told them it probably isn't a good idea to breathe

I would've sold them on eBay. The smoke is incredibly hazourdous to health - extremely poisonous. If they must be burnt (don't understand why...), do it outside, and stay away from the smoke!
